Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 07:29PM Once in a while a client comes along who challenges me beyond my comfort zone and pushes me to try things I never imagined. When I first met Torri, I wondered whether I could pull off this type of wedding. I had never extended my self so far outside of my own style. There was nothing rustic or home-spun about this wedding, no wood or seagrass, or burlap. I had to completely stretch my design to encompass acrylic, crystals, and tons of white fabric. The result was one that I surprisingly really liked. I was so glad that Torri came to Salt Harbor and had the confidence that we could push ourselves to match her style.
In the process of planning her wedding, we fell in love with Torri and her positive personality and always smiling face! The wedding and reception were held in her backyard and never, in all of my experience, have I encountered such a gracious host! She brought all of our workers drinks and snacks and kept asking what she could do for us. It was a great experience, and we are so glad we were able to work with Torri and Mike to plan and style their big day!

The ceremony was in the back yard with seating in the round. From the ceiling of the tent we hung a massive floral chandelier.
Following the ceremony we sent everyone to the tent in front of the house for cocktail hour, while we undertook the largest "flip" of our career.
After an hour or so, we brought Torri back to see the transformation that happened in her back yard. This was her reaction...
Celebrity DJ Rekka was onsite for the night to provide the music.
A midnight snack.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 at 02:35PM Bald Head weddings are always so beautiful-- no where else locally can you find an eviornment so natural and so quiet, an entire island free of cars. Weddings under the large trees on the Lighthouse lawn are always my favorite. Lea and Matt's wedding was tucked under the trees between the lighthouse and the chapel.

Friday, January 20, 2012 at 05:31PM As I posted earlier in the year, we recently moved into an amazing new space downtown. It is a dream location, and every single day I am still amazed that I get to work here. Millie Holloman and I discovered the space when scouting a location for the shoot below, and we fell in love with it instantly. The shoot led us to Mrs. Susan Flynn, the architect's wife, who was trying to find the perfect people to occupy the space. She let us shoot in the garden that day and then later, let us occupy the space for offices. It was fate!
We have been here since April and have been allowing wedding ceremonies in the space. As of this week, we have more exciting news. The space is now available for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Stop by and see the space at 15 South Second! We can't wait to show you around!
